fckin twisted my ankle comin out of a store two or so days ago.
its not bruised, and this is definitely not the first time i been hurt, but it’s still sore although i cant spot any swelling.
i can walk on it, its like an occasional pain, throbbing and dull.
so what do i do? insurance is a bitch so seein a doctor has got to be a last resort.
anyone help?
It can take a few days for pain to settle after twisting an ankle. Standard treatment for sprained ankles should offer some relief even if you can’t see any swelling. There could be bruising that hasn’t come to the surface yet.
Rest- Try not to walk too much
Ice- Apply ice packs (but don’t put ice in direct contact with skin)
Compression – Bandage it for support but don’t bandage too tightly and take them off when you go to bed.
Elevation – Prop it up as often as you can to take the weight off. Above the level of the heart is best but any elevation is better than putting weight on it
If you want to try to bring the bruising out alternate the ice packs with bathing the ankle in hot (not scalding hot) water.
